Anyone Interested in Starting a SiP Mix Tape Club?

I've seen this happen on other bulletin boards, and thought I might float the idea around here and see what happens.

Here's the rules.

1) Someone initiates the idea (in this case me) and organizes things.

2) The Initiator/Organizer posts the idea on the board.

3) People who are interested in joining the club post replies. If you aren't interested, please don't post a reply.

4) If you are a Joiner, send your mailing address to the Initiator/Organizer ([email protected] in this case) and agree to make one mix tape or CD and mail it to a stranger.

5) The Initiator/Organizer takes all of the addresses, mixes them up, and pair the Joiner people off with each other.

6) The Joiners receive their assignment address, make a mix tape or CD, and mail it to their assignment address.

7) Within a few days, everyone should receive a mix tape or CD of new music.

8) Everyone is happy.

Since SiP is very much about music, I think it would be good to try and make a mix of music that reminds you about SiP, music you listen to while you read SiP, or even, for the musically gifted, homemade recordings of some of the SiP songs.

Ok. I am going to set a deadline of March 31st for people to toss their name in the hat, and then a deadline of April 15th to get your tape (or CD) in the mail.

Glad people are interested in this. Looking forward to hearing something new.

Ok, I am declaring the first Sign Up Period for the first Swap period closed.

Everyone will be contacted with a name, email address, and mailing address of someone. You have until April 15th to get those mixes in the mail. Tape or CDs are acceptable.
